The Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps show that this building was constructed by 1888. According to Polk's Astoria's City and Clatsop County Directory, the residence was occupied in 1896 by Bessie Arndt, Ocia Campbell and Mrs. Christian Leineweber. The Leineweber family including Mary, Ida and Hiram resided at this address in 1904. There were several tenants residing in the building from 1906 to 1909. The occupants included Matt Anderson, Lars Berg, Gust Branhaug, Edwin Finney, Thomas Fitcha, Gabriel, Inga, and Lena Fronsdal, Andrew Groven, Peter Hanson, J.M. Larson and Anton Moe in 1906. The occupants in 1908 were Christena Brewstad, Gabriel Fronsdal, Peter Hanson, Thomas Johnson, Andrew and Louis Laknes and Samuel Skaale. The Johansen family lived at this address from 1913 to 1915. Oscar Sallinen resided in the building in 1913. Edwin Gustafson was a tenant in 1915. The Gramms family and Mrs. Bertha Morton, resided at this address from1917 to 1938. The Gramms family included Otto and Bertha; Beryl, Dorothy and Grace. Marion Albright lived at the residence in 1925.
