This is the third depot built on essentially the same site; the plan for building appears to be a stock plan similar in style to depots constructed Reno, Nevada and Oakland, California. Over the years the station has served such trains as the "Cascade." the "Shasta," the "West Coast," and the "Willamette Valley Express." All Southern Pacific functions have been relocated and the building now serves as the Amtrak station.
