Wood frame, hip roof structure with shiplap siding. 1/1 double-hung wood sash windows with plain casings. Decorative features include enclosed eaves, frieze, corner boards, fishscale shingles, wrap-around porch with wood brackets and spindlework.

ARCHITECTURAL / PROPERTY DESCRIPTION

Alterations include construction of two story addition, east (historic);construction of addition, northeast; some window replacement with vinyl sash; installation of skylights, north and west; construction of deck, north.
HISTORY
(Chronological, descriptive history of the property from its construction through at least the historic period - preferably to the present)
City and Clatsop County Directory, the residence was occupied in 1896 by Hans Steffensen, a teamster at Astoria Box Co. Thomas and Blodwen Davies resided at this address from 1902 to 1910. Mr. Davies was an engineer at Astoria Electric Co. Other occupants included Theodore Peterson in 1902, Andrew Rasmussen and Laura Torvik in 1904, and James Peters in 1906. There were several tenants residing in the building from 1913 to 1920. These tenants included John and Mary Mueller in 1913; Peter and Mary Anderson, and Charles and Jennie Johnson in 1915; Orpa and Hulda Hautaniemi and Hjalmar Isaakson in 1917; Orpa and Hulda Hautaniemi and I Elmer Carlson in 1920. The Thompson family including Bertha, Thomas and Gertrude, Thorvald, and Troyer resided at this address from 1925 through 1938. Thomas Thompson was a fireman and later a watchman and millworker at 0' Brien Spruce Co. Bertha Thompson married Ernest Bumula in 1925.
