This bridge, originally constructed in 1937 over Thomas Creek north of Crabtree, was dismantled in 1987 and re-erected in 1990 over Ames Creek in the City of Sweet Home. The bridge was moved approximately 20 miles and remains in Linn County. The bridge retains a good level of integrity and appears to meet eligibility requirements under Criterion C. The bridge has seen replacement of materials in-kind, including the siding and roof system, portions of the truss, and portions of the floor system are also replacements, essentially in-kind, with minor dimensional differences. The general appearance of the structure is as it was originally, and it is a good example of its type (Howe Truss) both within the county context and state context. The bridge has some features that are fairly uniqe to Linn County, including its large windows. The bridge portals and portal framing are also as they were originally (based on exterior historic photographs). The bridge is currently propped up on temporary supports due to problems with the lower chord on the truss (which was broken and is the reason the bridge was dismanteled in the first place). Even though the integrity of location and setting have been compromised, and the structure has been converted to pedestrian used, the bridge retains sufficient integrity to be considered eligible for listing in the NRHP.
