(Chronological, descriptive history of the property from its construction through at least the historic period - preferably to the present)
After WWII, the U.S. Air Force trained aircraft mechanics here, which was run by the Arlington Aeronautical School of Flight & Engineering. Blimp Hangar 'A' (one of two timber hangars). On August 22, 1992, Hangar A fell to a ferocious fire which engulfed the entire structure in a matter of minutes. Wooden arch trusses were once attached to the concrete bents. The concrete pylons that supported a massive box-beam are all that remain of the original hangar today.
